Whiteman Park Get Together
A scorching Perth summer day and a late notice closure of the pool due to a damaged lining didn't deter a number of Camp Autism families getting together for our first gathering of the year at Whiteman Park.
We met at Whiteman Park's newest attraction, Pia's Place. An all-abilites nature-based playground which caters to all, with plentiful space, accessible to all play equipment, and most importantly on a near 40-degree day, plenty of shady spots to park up for a couple of hours with friends. And if that wasn't enough, it's completely free!
Kids revelled in catching up with their camp friends after a couple of months apart, and the adults swapped stories of holidays, each enjoying the shared connections made through the camp events.
It was a lovely opportunity to catch up with friends, share each other's holiday period trials and tribulations and ready the excitement and anticipation of the upcoming year of camp adventures.
Speaking of the next camp, we're looking forward to that Pinnacle of the WA coast that is Jurien Bay where more new adventures await...
