Summer wasn’t quite finished yet for our March catch up on the beautiful Western Foreshore in Mandurah. We had a great turnout for our latest camp catch up, with picnics, kayaks, playgrounds and a spot of fishing on the agenda.
Families from far and wide came together to share and enjoy the splendid day in a perfect location. As seems to be the theme on these catch up days we were joined by some of the local wildlife, this time it was some of WA’s finest, a pair of Black Swans, both eager to share in the various treats available from the picnics (Disclaimer: they weren’t necessarily offered these treats, they just assumed the treats were theirs and weren’t afraid to claim them)
The kids loved the new playground immediately behind our chosen base, a high course adventure ground. Some took to it instantly, others needed a bit of time, but everyone enjoyed it thoroughly.
Egg and spoon races challenged a number of our flock with finishers getting the chance to trade actual eggs for yummy chocolate easter eggs. Really though, races are for those who want them, prizes are for everyone, so chocolate all round it is!
The kayaks provided the chance for the eager amongst us to join others on the beautiful waterways that surround Mandurah, and for those dedicated ones, an opportunity to drop a line and try and catch a fish or two.
Thanks to Siran and Hugh for organising the event. It was a stunning day spent in a beautiful location with amazing friends, thoroughly enjoyed by all, and a great opportunity to catch up before our next gathering, our family fun day in April. There’s sure to be a few Easter Eggs waiting for our day campers.
