New policy explanation:

Camp Autism has a new policy in regard to deposits and full payments.
All camps must be paid in full at least 1 month prior to camp.  This is to align with the terms and conditions of accommodation that Camp Autism books on behalf of its members. Camp Autism are required to pay a deposit when we make the initial booking and have to pay for the total booking in full, 30 days before the camp.

The new policy is designed to reduce the money Camp Autism loses on cancellation of any prepaid accommodation.  In the past Camp Autism has paid out $1000’s of dollars because members have cancelled after we have been required to pay in full. Over the past years this has equated to over $10,000.

Funding sources for camps:

Commonwealth Respite: If you are not in the NDIS areas or WA NDIS areas you might be able to get camps funded through the Commonwealth Respite and Carelink Centres. Camp Autism has service agreements with Red Cross, Silverchain and Independent Living Centre. Please call 1800 052 222 to ask for the Camp to be funded through them. It takes time to get all the paperwork involved sorted so please call as soon as your place on camp is confirmed. If your funding hasn’t been approved in a timely manner (within 3 weeks of confirmation), you may lose your place.

If you require further assistance, please speak with Katarzyna Clark. If you are funded by the Commonwealth Respite you will need to pay a $50 deposit to secure your place. We will let you know when your agreement comes through and you are required to pay your deposit. Your deposit will be refunded once you attend camp.

WANDIS you must have Camp Autism in your plan and be Self Managed. We recommend you request your funds for camp as soon as your place is confirmed.

NDIS you must have Camp Autism in your plan and be Self Managed. We recommend you request your funds for camp as soon as your place is confirmed.

If you don’t have any funding but want to come on camp please speak with Kristen Hanks about payment plans.

Conditions for all Camps.

Please note the following items apply to all camps.

Wait List: If all places are taken and you are on the wait list, you will be advised as soon as a place is available on a first come first served basis. Deposit and full payment are due under the same terms if offered prior to dates. If a place is offered after the due dates, deposit is due immediately (perhaps save the deposit prior) and full payment under terms discussed with Kristen Hanks.

Working with Children Card. Please ensure that every person over 18 has a valid Working with Children card. This is a legal requirement and without this card, adults can not participate. We will be checking that they are current for each camp.
